10 Stupid World Records

OK folks ... Here is a list of 10 WORLD RECORDS that are quite useless ... unless you possess, or live in ... these GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS!!

#10 Cycling backwards with violin (No Picture Available)

World record in cycling backwards with violin it's 60,45 km in 5h 09 min.

Christian Adam (neĆ© Patzig) couldn´t believe it ! He set up a new worldrecord. In a suisse motorway tunnel he was cycling backwards 60.45 km while playing J.S. Bach on his violin. The well - known Showmaster Kurt Felix had asked Christian Adam to try this record for his Suisse TV Show "Supertreffer". Christian did it. Everybody was astonished to see him sitting on the handlebar and pedaling 60 kilometer quite relaxed. The music stand was fixed where the " visual " cyclist has his saddle. Christian was astonished about the good sound in the motorway tunnel. Undouptedly he is better in the Concert hall of Hamburg. Here he is studying music with the violin as main subject.

#9 World's longest ear hair

Longest ear hair 13.2 cm (about 5.25 inches)

Radhakant Bajpai of Naya Ganj, Uttar Pradesh, India, was "blessed" with extraordinarily long hair sprouting from the center of his outer ears. The record actually specifies the hair originates from the "middle of the pinna", meaning that GBR has had to maintain separate records for the longest hairs from multiple regions of the ear. Radhakant's ear hair/tendrils measure an incredible 13.2 cm (about 5.25 inches) at its longest point, though it is slightly shorter when pulled back into pigtails.

"Making it to Guinness World Records is indeed a special occasion for me and my family," said Radhakant. "God has been very kind to me." It's not clear exactly how God compensated Radhakant for the grotesquely long ear hair though most experts postulate that it would take at least three extra inches of penis to consider the deal even.

#8 Most snails to remain on the face for 10 seconds

Most snails to remain on the face for 10 seconds (8 snails)

The record for the most snails to remain on the face for 10 seconds was achieved by Alastair Galpin on October 27, 2007, when 8 gastropods went about their usual business of clinging to things.

This raises many, many questions that Guiness doesn't seem ready to answer. The first of which being, what was the previous record? Seven snails? Two? Zero?

#7 World’s most expensive mobile phone

World’s most expensive mobile phone costs 1.000.000 EURO

GoldVish Switzerland handsets made of 18 carat gold (of pink, yellow and white colors) and decorated with diamonds of highest quality WS1 cost from 22 to 127 thousand euros. Besides, the Russians will have the opportunity to buy the most expensive handset put into the Guinness Book of Records. GoldVish Piece Unique costs 1 mln. euro. GoldVish design has been developed by Emanuel Gueit, who has also designed a range of models for watches and jewelry.

GoldVish Luxury-handsets have come to Russia. Expanding its Luxury-line Euroset has received the exclusive right to sell the entire GoldVish model range in Russia. Currently the handsets are available in Euroset three shops in Moscow. In 2008 the retailer plans to open GoldVish boutique in Moscow.

#6 World’s most dangerous bird

World’s most dangerous bird is Cassowarie

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the Cassowaries are the world’s most dangerous birds, capable of dealing fatal blows. They are very unpredictable, aggressive creatures, Especially if wounded or cornered.

The Cassowary lives in the rain forests of Australia and New Guinea and are actually pretty shy animals if undisturbed, But if you get to close and it thinks you’re a threat you could receive a bone-breaking kick or get sliced by its dagger-like sharp claws.

During WWII, soldiers stationed in New Guinea were warned to stay away from these birds, but some of them still became victims.

#5 Most functional folding knife

Most functional folding knife has 87 tools

Leave it to those ingenious Chinese folks to out-Switzerland the Swiss. The world record-setting Wei Ge knife pictured above includes 87 tools with an intended 141 individual functions. It is the first pocket knife designed to entirely defeat the structural integrity of any pocket that attempts to carry it. Among its many features are a hex screw, carabiner, Wankel rotary engine, flux capacitor, and nail file.

#4 The world's largest pizza

The world's largest pizza was 140 feet across

The world's largest pizza before tha latest record was 'built' on October 11, 1987 by Lorenzo Amato and Louis Piancone. The pizza covered 10,000 square feet and measured 140 feet across. It weighed in at 44,457 pounds, consisting of, among other items, 18,174 pounds of flour, 1,103 pounds of water, 6,445 pounds of sauce, 9,375 pounds of cheese and 2,387 pounds of pepperoni. The pizza was cut into 94,248 slices and eaten by more than 30,000 spectators at the baking in Havana, Florida.

In 1994, Domino's Pizza stores in Guatemala attempted a world record for the longest chain of pizza. The chain, reaching 500 metres, was donated to local charities.

#3 The most taps in a minute

The most taps in a minute - 602 taps

Tony Adams has just had confirmation that he smashed the Guinness World Record of 512 tap beats a minute, previously held in England, with a staggering 602 beats.

Crippled at birth, Mr Adams was sent to tap lessons by his mother in the hope it would straighten his calliper-bound legs without invasive surgery. "She lost her mother to a medical misadventure when she was 13, and lost my brother to an operation on a brain tumour, so she wasn't having a bar of me having an operation," he said.

#2 The longest distance thrown in a car accident

As Newton once postulated, a body will remain at rest, or continue to move at a constant velocity, unless an external net force acts upon it. That law should now be renamed Matthew McKnight's law, as no one has demonstrated it as spectacularly as he did the day he was standing around and a car hit him going 70 mph, flinging McKnight a distance equal to more than a third of a football field.

McKnight was struck when he pulled over to help accident victims on Interstate 376 on October 26, 2001. His kindness was repaid with an involuntary flight of 118 feet as well as a broken shoulder, pelvis, leg and tailbone. Luckily he was quickly surrounded by a crack medical staff who, seeing how far the man had been flung, knew that Guiness must be contacted STAT.

#1 The longest place name in the World

The longest place name contains 58 letters

A little village in Wales boasts the longest place name at 58 letters:

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

But New Zealand makes the same claim with a hill containing 92 letters:

Tetaumatawhakatangihangakoauaotamateaurehaeaturipukapihimaungahoronukupokaiw
henuaakitanarahu

But after some further digging we found the winner to be Bangkok. OK, so that's only 7 letters, but the official ceremonial name of Bangkok is Krung Thep Mahanakhon for short meaning 'City of Angels'.

The full name of Bangkok has many variations in spelling but we found what is believed to be the official spelling coming in at 163 letters:

Krungthepmahanakornamornratanakosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokphopnopparatraj
athaniburiromudomrajaniwesmahasatharnamornphimarnavatarnsathitsakkattiyavisa
nukamprasit

The translation here is pretty much the unabridged history of the city rather than a word.

Hey Delilah, I found Samson!

In 2007 Manjit Singh of London England was foiled in his attempt to get into The Guinness Book of World Records when he tried to pull a double-decker bus with his EARS.

This past Thursday Manjit made his way into the famous book by pulling a double-decker bus 21.2 meters with his HAIR!

I wonder what body part Manjit is thinking of using next??

This gives "Giving the Finger" new meaning!

Here we go folks! You too can be a WORLD CHAMPION in less than 6 DAYS! Why not give it a GO! This fine gent took the time to do it!

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Wacky World Records!
